Originally conceived as a palette study for Sunset on a Lavender Field, this work later became a commissioned painting after the test panel revealed its own quiet completeness.

The sequence of colours traces the fading warmth of day as it yields to the cool density of dusk, a slow descent through temperature and tone.

Each band acts as both interval and boundary, a measured rhythm where the spectrum becomes time itself.
