Break a Leg!

Acrylic on canvas, 65 cm x 70 cm

SOLD - Private Collection - Italy

Commissioned by a theatre actress, Break a Leg portrays the instant before performance, when the stage is unseen, yet everything is about to begin.

The viewer stands where the actors wait, behind the curtain, in that charged space between presence and appearance. Geometry replaces movement: the folds of red become rhythm, the yellow cut of light a pulse of adrenaline.

This is the moment of suspension, when the world narrows to breath, gesture, and expectation. The structure of the composition mirrors that internal tension: verticals converging, light pressing forward, anticipation crystallised into form.
