Truman
Acrylic on canvas, 50 cm × 70 cm
This work originated as the design for the official poster of The New Artist Fair, held at the Truman Brewery in East London in September 2023. Starting from the brewery’s distinctive façade and vertical sign, I reinterpreted the building into a bold geometric composition — first as a poster, and later as a painting on canvas.
This work reimagines the iconic Truman Brewery, once a landmark of industry and now a hub of culture and creativity. Captured from below, the perspective heightens the vertical force of the sign and the façade, with geometry stretched into sharp, luminous planes.
Warm tones of brown, red, and white are set against a radiant orange ground, while fine perspective lines extend upward, dissolving the building into an infinite network of space. The Truman sign, both local marker and cultural emblem, anchors the composition as a symbol of transformation, from industrial past to artistic present.
