The Geometry of Love

Acrylic on canvas — 150 cm × 100 cm

The Geometry of Love reinterprets Antonio Canova’s Amore e Psiche (Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss) through my Giumetric style, where intersecting lines form the foundation of figures, space, and emotion.

In this work, the tender mythological moment — Cupid awakening Psyche with a kiss — is reconstructed into a contemporary visual language of geometry. The flowing curves of the neoclassical sculpture are translated into angled planes, fractured yet connected by a network of precise lines. This structured approach mirrors the emotional intensity of the story: love as both fragile and eternal, bound together through unseen forces.

The figures emerge from the intersections of red, orange, and beige, symbolizing desire, warmth, and human vulnerability. Rather than soft marble forms, the embrace here is expressed through tension and harmony between shapes, suggesting that even in abstraction, the essence of passion and intimacy remains intact.

Part of my ongoing Giumetric Concept, this painting shows how classical narratives can be reimagined through geometry, transforming timeless themes of love and awakening into a dialogue between tradition and modernity.
